SIM information with CNIC number refers to the complete record of all mobile SIM cards registered against a Pakistani citizen’s 13-digit CNIC in PTA’s database. When you check SIM information using your CNIC number, you can see exactly how many SIM cards are currently active under your identity and which network each one belongs to.
In Pakistan, every SIM card sold must be biometrically verified against NADRA’s database before activation. This creates a permanent legal link between the SIM card and the CNIC holder. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority — PTA — maintains a real-time record of all these SIM registrations and you can access your own information completely free.

Why Checking SIM Information with Your CNIC Number Matters
Most Pakistanis only check their SIM records when something goes wrong — a blocked number, a suspicious call, or an unexpected bank notification. By then the damage is often already done.
Here is why you should check your SIM information with your CNIC number regularly and not reactively.
You are legally responsible for every SIM under your CNIC. Under Pakistani law, the registered CNIC holder is held accountable for all activity on every SIM linked to their identity — including SIMs they never personally registered. If someone registers a SIM on your stolen CNIC and uses it for fraud or harassment, law enforcement contacts you first.
Unauthorised SIM registrations are extremely common. In 2025 alone, PTA detected over 4.7 million unauthorised SIM registrations on stolen CNICs across Pakistan. Victims faced frozen bank accounts, police investigations, and years of legal battles — all for SIMs they never registered.
Exceeding SIM limits can block your own numbers. PTA’s DIRBS system automatically blocks any SIM that pushes a CNIC over the legal limit. If criminals register enough SIMs on your CNIC, your own legitimate numbers get blocked without any warning.

How to Check SIM Information with CNIC Number — 3 Official Methods
There are three completely free and PTA-approved methods to check all SIM information registered against your CNIC number. Each one works slightly differently — choose whichever suits you best.
Method 1 — SMS to 668 (Works on Any Phone, No Internet Needed)
This is the fastest and most widely used method in Pakistan. It works on every mobile phone including basic keypad phones — no internet connection required.
Step 1 — Open your phone’s messaging app.
Step 2 — Type your 13-digit CNIC number without any dashes or spaces. For example if your CNIC is 35201-1234567-1, type 3520112345671. Step 3 — Send this message to 668.
Step 4 — Within seconds you will receive a reply showing the total number of SIMs registered per network under your CNIC.
A typical reply looks like this: Jazz: 2 · Zong: 1 · Telenor: 0 · Ufone: 1 · SCO: 0.
Important — this method shows SIM count per network only. It does not reveal the actual phone numbers for privacy reasons. If the count is higher than you expected, someone may have registered an unauthorised SIM on your CNIC.
Method 2 — PTA Official Portal at cnic.sims.pk (Best for Full Details)
PTA’s official online portal gives you a more detailed breakdown including network-wise status. This works from any browser on any device — including from abroad.
Step 1 — Open your browser and go to cnic.sims.pk.
Step 2 — Enter your 13-digit CNIC number in the input field.
Step 3 — Click Submit.
Step 4 — The portal shows a complete table of all SIMs registered under your CNIC broken down by network operator.
This method also works for NICOP holders — simply select the NICOP option instead of CNIC on the portal.
Method 3 — Visit Any Network Franchise (For Actual Phone Numbers)
If you need the actual phone numbers — not just the count — you must visit the relevant network franchise in person. This is the only legal way to get individual SIM numbers linked to your CNIC.
Bring your original CNIC card. Ask the franchise staff for a SIM ownership verification. They will run biometric verification and give you the complete list of numbers registered under your identity on their network. This service is completely free at all major networks — Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, and SCO.
SIM Limits Per CNIC in Pakistan 2026
PTA strictly enforces the following SIM registration limits per CNIC in Pakistan as of 2026.

These limits apply across all five networks combined — Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, and SCO together. Having 3 Jazz SIMs and 3 Zong SIMs already puts you at 6 voice SIMs which exceeds the limit. PTA’s DIRBS system monitors this automatically and blocks the extra SIM without any prior notice.
From 2026, any SIM that has not been used — no call, no SMS, no data — for 180 consecutive days is also automatically blocked by PTA.
What to Do If You Find an Unauthorised SIM on Your CNIC
If your 668 SMS reply or the cnic.sims.pk portal shows more SIMs than you personally registered, take the following steps immediately.
Step 1 — Identify which network the unauthorised SIM belongs to from the reply breakdown. Step 2 — Visit the nearest franchise of that specific network with your original CNIC card. Step 3 — Request to disown the unauthorised SIM. This process is completely free. Step 4 — Complete biometric fingerprint verification at the franchise counter. Step 5 — The unauthorised SIM will be blocked within 24 to 48 hours. Step 6 — After 48 hours send your CNIC to 668 again to confirm the unauthorised SIM has been removed.
If you cannot visit a franchise immediately, call the network helplines to flag the issue — Jazz 111, Zong 310, Telenor 345, Ufone 333. Note that helpline reports alone do not complete the disowning process — an in-person visit is always required.
